Heroes on the Water SoCal Chapter: Tidelands Park
Everyone’s invited to be part of Southern California Chapter’s Heroes on the Water on April 1 at Tidelands Park. Enjoy various water activities that you and your family will surely love. We are looking forward to get to know you and share some memorable times out on the water.
Heroes On the Water’s mission is to help wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate into society through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Over the past seven years of taking a few thousand men and women of all branches of the armed services out kayak fishing, we have learned firsthand the ‘triple therapy’ of kayak fishing – physical with paddling and fishing, occupational in learning new skills and a sport they can do for life, and mental in the relaxation and freedom out on the water.
Please bring your families! Our volunteer staff loves to see the family having a great time with one another. Family members planning on relaxing on shore instead of on the water may come bright and early with the participants or show up a little later in the morning if wanted.
Please remember that this event is meant to reach out and touch the lives of those who truly need the therapy that being on the water provides them. As a courtesy to other guests when registering, please select no more than 2 TICKETS per individual.
Register now! Please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator Shane Yellin at 617-256-4728 for more information.
